In Round 8 of the Women’s Superligue, we hosted Farul Constanța at the Burus Csaba Sportpark. Despite dominating the game and creating numerous chances, we couldn’t break through the visitors’ defense, and the match ended in a goalless draw.

Farul started more aggressively, forcing us to defend in the opening minutes, but by the middle of the first half we had taken control and created several dangerous chances. In the 10th minute, a miscommunication in defense led to a risky moment after Balog Boglárka’s mistake, but our defenders cleared the danger in time to keep the score level.

In the second half, both sides had opportunities, though we remained the more threatening team. In the 65th minute, Chiper was sent off after receiving her second yellow card, leaving us with a player advantage. We dominated the closing stages, putting continuous pressure on the visitors’ goal, but Farul’s goalkeeper Onyango produced several brilliant saves – including one from Feketevízi’s shot heading under the crossbar – while Antal Anita’s late attempt narrowly missed the target.

The game ended 0–0, and although we came closer to victory, we had to settle for a single point against Farul.

After the match, our head coach Szilvia Szeitl shared her thoughts: – Hats off to the girls, because the attitude I’ve been waiting for over the past few weeks finally appeared today. Only one thing was missing – a goal that crosses the line. Apart from that, they did everything perfectly – said our coach.

Regarding the red card, Szeitl added: – The sending-off should have come about twenty minutes earlier. That player committed several fouls before and somehow stayed on the pitch.

– I hope this match gives the girls confidence, and I’m sure we’ll be there in the play-offs. I don’t believe in luck, only in hard work – she concluded.
