Kitekintő | Újabb Corbu-gól az APOEL-nél

Marius Corbu has scored his second goal of the season for APOEL Nicosia. This is the next episode in our series following our former academy players.

Corbu once again found the net for APOEL Nicosia in the weekend round of the Cypriot league. In the away match against Akritas Chlorakas, his left-footed strike opened the scoring in the 15th minute, and the team eventually triumphed 4–0 against the 10th-placed side. The Cypriot championship, like the Romanian top flight, features 16 teams. After four rounds, APOEL sit in second place with 9 points, behind leaders Omonia only on goal difference.

In Slovakia’s top division, Komárno, with Târgu Secuiesc-born Nándor Tamás in the starting lineup, suffered a 3–1 home defeat against Žilina on Sunday. Tamás played until the 61st minute.

After being loaned out from Rapid to Universitatea Cluj, Omar el Sawy made his debut for the “Students” over the weekend, starting against FC Argeș. However, it was an unlucky first appearance, as U lost 1–0 in Mioveni, with Omar being substituted in the 79th minute. Interestingly, this was already his second match of the autumn season against the Pitești side, since he had already faced them in Round 1 while playing for Rapid.

Among our former academy players in the Hungarian second division, Ureche and Vajda met as opponents. Alexandru Ureche was not included in BVSC-Zugló’s squad for the 1–0 home defeat against Kozármisleny, while Roland Vajda – who returned to the Baranya side on loan from Fehérvár – played the full match.
