Although the 2026–2027 season only began a few weeks ago, several players developed at FK Csíkszereda who now represent other clubs have already received significant playing time. Our season review covers competitive club fixtures played up to 16 August 2026.

Corbu Marius has undoubtedly made the strongest start to the new campaign. He has been named in the starting line-up for all eight competitive matches played so far by Hungarian record champions Ferencváros: six times in the Europa League qualifiers and twice in the NB I. He has accumulated a total of 663 minutes across those eight appearances.

Corbu started both legs of the ties against Vojvodina and Twente, playing the full match or almost the entire game on each occasion, before taking centre stage against Górnik Zabrze in the third qualifying round. He scored the only goal of the first leg in Budapest in the 65th minute and played another 90 minutes in the return match in Poland. Ferencváros advanced to the Europa League play-offs with a 2–1 aggregate victory.

In the Hungarian league, he played one half in the 4–2 defeat by Paks and 80 minutes in the goalless draw with Vasas. After two NB I matches, Ferencváros sit 12th with one point, although they have played two games fewer than most of the teams in the division. Corbu’s side play their next league fixture in Zalaegerszeg today, Monday, from 17:30.

Omar El Sawy appears to be part of the plans at Rapid București, the club that owns his playing rights, for the 2026–2027 season after spending most of the previous campaign on loan at U Cluj. He has been included in Rapid’s matchday squad for all five league fixtures. He has made four substitute appearances, with the match against UTA Arad the only one he watched entirely from the bench. He came on in the 69th minute against Sepsi OSK, the 62nd against FC Botoșani, the 78th against CFR Cluj and the 87th minute of the Bucharest derby with Dinamo. The youth international midfielder therefore has four appearances and 64 minutes to his name. Rapid sit seventh in the Romanian SuperLiga with eight points.

Gyenge Szilárd also plays in the Romanian top flight and has been on the Sepsi OSK bench in all five rounds. First-choice goalkeeper David Lazar has played every minute of every match, however, meaning Gyenge is yet to make his competitive debut for his club this season. Sepsi OSK sit 11th with six points after one victory, three draws and one defeat.

In Romania’s second tier, Alexandru Ureche has featured in two competitive matches for CSM Slatina. He came on in the 57th minute of the 2–1 away victory over Steaua București and played 34 minutes. He was then handed a starting berth against Oltul Curtișoara in the third round of the Romanian Cup and completed the full match as his team won 3–0. He was an unused substitute in two further league fixtures, leaving him with two appearances and 124 minutes. CSM Slatina lead the Liga 2 standings with three victories, nine points and a goal difference of 8–2.

In the Hungarian NB II, Vajda Roland Ottó began the season as a regular starter for HR-Rent Kozármisleny. He played the full match against Videoton in the opening round but was sent off in the 74th minute against Gyirmót. He subsequently missed the league fixture against Csákvár through suspension before returning to play another 90 minutes at Kazincbarcika. His record stands at three matches, three starts and 254 minutes, as well as one yellow and one red card. Kozármisleny remain without a point after four rounds and occupy 16th place.

Brügger Dániel has moved closer to the Puskás Akadémia first team while also becoming a regular starter for the club’s NB III side. He was not included in the squad for Puskás II’s opening league match but has since started three times, playing 71 minutes against Tatabánya, 63 against Komárom and 85 away to ZTE II. The Felcsút side won the latter match 3–2.

Brügger has also been on the bench for all four of Puskás Akadémia’s NB I matches but is yet to make his top-flight debut. He has three starts and 219 minutes in the NB III. The Puskás first team lead the NB I with nine points, while the reserves sit 14th in the North-West Group of the NB III with three points.

Dusinszki Szabolcs is also a Puskás Akadémia player but has not been included in the matchday squad of either the NB I or the NB III team so far this season. Bencze Lóránd belongs to Puskás Akadémia’s second-team squad but, like Dusinszki, is yet to feature on a match sheet.

Tamás Nándor was handed a starting berth in the opening league match of Slovak top-flight side KFC Komárno (Komárom). He played 46 minutes in the 1–1 away draw against AS Trenčín (Trencsén). He was named among the substitutes but did not come on in the following three rounds against FC Spartak Trnava (Nagyszombat), MFK Zemplín Michalovce (Nagymihály) and DAC. KFC Komárno sit ninth in the Niké Liga with two points following two draws and two defeats.
