Rapid have loaned Omar El Sawy to UTA Arad, and he made his debut for his new club in Saturday’s league match against FK Csíkszereda. In our latest round-up, we look back at the period between 31 August and 7 September.
Corbu Marius was named in the starting line-up for two of Ferencváros’ league matches. The Hungarian record champions travelled to Győr to face ETO FC on 3 September and returned home with all three points following a 3–0 victory. Corbu received a yellow card in the 49th minute before being replaced by Naby Keita in the 63rd.
Three days later, Ferencváros hosted Újpest. Corbu was once again included in the starting line-up and played the full derby, which ended in a 2–2 draw. His weekly tally was two starts and 153 minutes on the pitch. He has now made fourteen competitive appearances in the 2026–2027 season – starting every one of them – and has played 1,169 minutes and scored three goals. After six league matches, Ferencváros sit fifth in the NB I table with eleven points.
On Sunday, the midfielder developed at FK Csíkszereda received another prestigious recognition, as Romania head coach Gheorghe Hagi included him in the senior national team’s 48-man preliminary squad. The list was drawn up for the first four Nations League matches, while the final squad will be announced before the training camp scheduled to begin on 20 September.
Bödő Zoltán Efraim, a product of our academy who recently left FK Csíkszereda for Győr, was named among the ETO FC substitutes for their postponed league match against Ferencváros on 3 September, but did not come on during the 3–0 defeat. Three days later, however, he made his debut for his new club. He replaced Szép Márton in the 86th minute of ETO’s memorable 3–2 comeback victory over Kispest–Honvéd. Bödő therefore registered four statistical minutes in Győr colours. He began the season with FK Csíkszereda, making four league appearances and playing 213 minutes, which means he has now made five top-flight appearances and accumulated 217 minutes for the two clubs combined. ETO sit second in the NB I table with twelve points from seven matches.
The past week brought a change of club and an immediate debut for Omar El Sawy. On 31 August, he watched Rapid Bucharest’s 1–1 draw against Universitatea Craiova from the bench, but two days later Rapid and UTA Arad announced that the 22-year-old midfielder would join the Arad side on loan until the end of the 2026–2027 season.
El Sawy made his first appearance for his new club on Saturday, against the very team where he was developed, FK Csíkszereda. He replaced Hakim Abdallah in the 70th minute of UTA’s 5–1 victory, playing twenty statistical minutes. El Sawy had played 74 minutes in five league appearances for Rapid and provided one assist. Including his debut in Arad, he has now made six appearances and played 94 minutes this season. After eight rounds, UTA sit fourteenth in the Superliga with nine points.
The week’s most productive performance came from Vajda Roland Ottó. On 5 September, HR-Rent Kozármisleny defeated Mezőkövesd Zsóry FC 2–0 at home to collect their first points and claim their first victory of the league season. Vajda started and played the entire match, received a yellow card in the 51st minute and headed home his team’s second and decisive goal in the 83rd.
Vajda has started all six of his league appearances this season and has played 524 minutes. His record stands at one goal, two yellow cards and one red card. After seven rounds, Kozármisleny sit sixteenth in the NB II with three points.
Gyenge Szilárd was given another opportunity in the Sepsi OSK goal during the Romanian Cup group stage. The Covasna side suffered a 3–1 home defeat against CFR Cluj on 1 September, with Gyenge playing the full match. This was the second competitive appearance of the season for the goalkeeper developed in Miercurea Ciuc, who has now played a total of 210 minutes in two cup matches.
Four days later, David Lazar was once again in goal for the league match away to FC Botoșani, which Sepsi lost 5–0, while Gyenge remained on the bench. After eight rounds, Sepsi OSK occupy twelfth place in the Superliga with ten points.
Brügger Dániel and Bencze Lóránd both featured for Puskás Akadémia’s second team against Sárisápi BSE. Brügger started and played 85 minutes, receiving a yellow card in the 48th minute. He has now made six starts and played 469 minutes in the NB III this season.
Bencze came on for Magyarics Erik in the 42nd minute and therefore played 48 statistical minutes. He has made three substitute appearances this season and has accumulated 86 minutes. Puskás Akadémia II conceded a late goal and lost the match 2–1. After seven rounds, they sit ninth in the NB III North-West Group with nine points.
Brügger was not included in the Puskás Akadémia squad for their 1–0 NB I defeat away to Zalaegerszeg. Dusinszki Szabolcs was not named in the matchday squad of either the first or second team at the weekend. After seven rounds, Puskás Akadémia’s first team lead the NB I table with twelve points.
Tamás Nándor was not given an opportunity by KFC Komárno on this occasion. His side played out a goalless draw against MFK Skalica, with Tamás remaining on the bench throughout the match. He has played a total of 196 minutes in four competitive appearances this season. After seven rounds, Komárno sit tenth in the Niké Liga with four points.
