The FK Csíkszereda sports base in Miercurea Ciuc also hosted this week the 2025 Székelyland edition of the long-standing Harghita–Heves Friendly Sports Meeting, an event with more than a decade of tradition, honored by the presence of Răzvan Burleanu, President of the Romanian Football Federation, and Mihai Stoichiță, the federation’s Technical Director.

During the meeting, coaches and referees exchanged experiences, while the boys’ and girls’ youth selections of Heves and Harghita counties faced each other in friendly matches. The Harghita boys’ team, coached by Szabó Attila, won 13–0, while the girls’ team, led by Berkeczi Emőke, triumphed 4–3.

Organized by the Harghita County Football Association, the event’s various programs took place in Praid and Odorheiu Secuiesc, while the matches were played on two pitches of FK Csíkszereda’s sports complex: the artificial turf field behind Márton Áron High School and one of the grass pitches at the Burus Csaba Sports Base.

Among the honorary guests were Răzvan Burleanu, President of the Romanian Football Federation, and Mihai Stoichiță, Technical Director of the Federation, who also held a meeting with Szondy Zoltán, President of FK Csíkszereda and the Székelyföld Football Academy.

On this occasion, the county football associations of Heves and Harghita presented the “For the Future of Football” Award to five personalities who have served the Hungarian football community across borders: Dusinszki Zoltán, Hompoth Dezső, Oláh József, Jakab Zoltán, and Tamás Zoltán.
