The senior team was promoted to the second division in the spring of 2019, but their debut season was cut short due to the global pandemic caused by Covid-19. During the 2020/21 season, which was held under a modified league system, FK Csíkszereda fought its way into the upper play-off and eventually finished in fifth place. In the 2021/22 season, things didn’t go as planned – the team missed out on the upper play-off due to an inferior goal difference and ended up in seventh place in a twenty-team league. In the 2022/23 season, contrary to initial expectations, the team failed to reach the upper play-off. Now with Róbert Ilyés on the bench, the squad finished at the top of Group A of the lower play-out. In the 2023/2024 season, the clear goal was to qualify for the upper play-off, which the team achieved, reaching the best result in its history by playing a promotion play-off against Dinamo Bucharest.
We begin the 2024/2025 season once again with the hope of reaching the upper play-off.
