Women’s Europa Cup | Draw takes place today: six possible opponents for FK

Our club is approaching a historic moment: the draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup takes place today at 14:00, when our women’s team will discover their opponents. This will be the first time that an FK Csíkszereda senior team has competed in an international club competition.

Our club is approaching a historic moment: the draw for the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup takes place today at 14:00, when our women’s team will discover their opponents. This will be the first time that an FK Csíkszereda senior team has competed in an international club competition.

A total of 24 teams will take part in the draw in Nyon: 13 clubs enter the competition directly at this stage, while they will be joined by the 11 teams that finished third in the mini-tournaments of the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round. Based on their UEFA coefficients, the teams were divided into 12 seeded and 12 unseeded sides before being placed into two draw groups of 12 teams each.

FK Csíkszereda have been placed among the unseeded teams in the second group and will face one of the six seeded sides in that group. Our possible opponents are:

  • Breiðablik (Iceland)

  • RSC Anderlecht (Belgium)

  • SFK 2000 Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina)

  • ŽFK Spartak Subotica (Serbia)

  • Rosenborg BK Kvinner (Norway)

  • Sport Clube União Torreense (Portugal)

Feyenoord, Brøndby IF, Slovan Liberec, FC Kolos Kovalivka and SeaSters Odesa, who are in the same pot as us, cannot be drawn against FK in this round.

The ties will be played over two legs. The first legs are scheduled for 26 August, with the return legs taking place on 2 September. The draw will determine both the pairings and the order of the fixtures: the team drawn first in each tie will play the first leg at home.

The 12 winners will progress to the second qualifying round, where they will be joined by the 11 runners-up from the UEFA Women’s Champions League second qualifying round mini-tournaments and the nine teams eliminated in the third qualifying round of that competition.

The draw begins today at 14:00 Romanian time and can be watched live on the UEFA website.

Women’s Europa Cup | We begin in Iceland against Breiðablik

Twenty-time Icelandic champions Breiðablik will be the opponents of our women’s team in the first qualifying round of the UEFA Women’s Europa Cup. The first senior European tie in our club’s history will begin in Iceland on 26 August, with the return leg in Miercurea Ciuc scheduled for 2 September.

Access for representatives of the written and electronic media to the FK Csíkszereda–Sepsi OSK match will be granted only on the basis of accreditation.
