Corbu Marius was once again in APOEL’s starting lineup in the weekend league match. This is the latest episode of our series following the careers of our former academy players.

In the 5th round of the Cypriot regular season, Marius started for APOEL Nicosia against Apollon Limassol. The capital side won 2–0, with Marius only being substituted three minutes before the end of regular time. Nearly ten thousand fans attended the game at Nicosia’s GSP Stadium. APOEL are currently in fourth place.

In Slovakia’s top division, DAC and Komárno faced off at the weekend, with Tamás Nándor’s team securing a 1–1 draw at MOL Aréna. Our former academy player was named in the starting eleven and played until the 69th minute.

Also in the starting lineup – for the second time this season – was Omar El Sawy for Universitatea Cluj, who played 65 minutes on Monday in the city derby against CFR in the 11th round of the Superliga. There is a good chance we’ll see him again on Saturday at the municipal stadium against our team – he already visited the city in the 3rd round as a Rapid player, though back then he only made the bench. The Cluj city derby ended in a 2–2 draw.

Among our former pupils in Hungary’s second tier, Roland Vajda played the full match for Kozármisleny in their 1–1 home draw with Fehérvár. This was the Baranya side’s third draw of the season, and they currently sit second from bottom with 6 points.
