The Youth League and Elite League playoffs concluded with Round 14. Our teams played away at FCSB: the U18 side secured third place and the bronze medal with a 1–1 draw, while the U17 team suffered a 4–1 defeat and finished fourth in the championship.

U18
We played away against the second-placed team in the standings in a high-level, intense match. The first half was balanced, and after the break we increasingly took the initiative.

In the 81st minute, Ronai Róbert scored a beautiful goal to give us the lead, bringing us close to victory. However, the hosts equalized from a free kick two minutes before the end of regular time. The 1–1 draw was enough for Goran Kopunovic’s team to finish this season’s Youth League campaign in third place, earning the bronze medal.

Head coach Goran Kopunovic evaluated the season after the match:

– I am satisfied. However, what is much more important to me is that 350 days ago, when I arrived here, I received a team, and during this time the team has developed a lot individually and collectively. Ten players trained with the senior team, four or five made their debut there, one of our players will take part in a world championship, one player debuted with the Hungarian U18 national team, so from my perspective this is huge progress. Tóth Pál Előd scored twenty goals in official matches, he is our top scorer, and although I have not yet seen the statistics, I am sure he is among the top three or four in the league. I am very, very proud of my team, I am very happy. I thank the president for his support throughout the year. I thank sporting director Dusinszki Zoltán. I thank the staff and the coaches with whom we worked very hard. I would especially like to thank the parents, because they supported their children, and I always felt their heartfelt encouragement. Last but not least, the biggest thanks go to the players. I was different, I am different, I represent a different football culture, and they accepted me as I am. I hope I was able to help them as well. Once again, I want to say that I am very proud and happy. Congratulations to the boys, because we worked hard and represented this club and this academy with dignity. Finishing third in such an elite championship is not easy. We started with twelve points and finished with thirty-six. We collected twenty-four points in fourteen matches, which I consider a huge achievement. Go FK Csíkszereda! Thank you very much – the head coach concluded.
