In a match that seemed almost won, our U16 team dropped points against FC Bacău. Burus Bernát’s boys took the lead twice, but in the end had to settle for a draw.
The first half was played under total home domination, with our boys creating chance after chance, but either the finishing wasn’t sharp enough or the visitors’ goalkeeper, Vîlcu, stood in the way, pulling off some fine saves. A minute before the break, however, he could do nothing, as the referee awarded a penalty for a foul on Fülöp, which Klein converted.
At the start of the second half, we relaxed a bit too much with the one-goal lead and didn’t work hard enough to score the second, something the visitors punished in the 65th minute. Our defense had no answer to Ficău’s run, as he fired into the far corner: 1–1. Luckily, we responded immediately – just a minute later, after Györfi’s cross from the left, Jánosi headed home from the middle: 2–1.
But we couldn’t hold on to this lead either. In the 77th minute, Keresztes Tamás made a defensive error, Palade beat him one-on-one and lobbed the ball over Kajtár to equalize again for Bacău: 2–2. In the final minutes, both the visitors and, in stoppage time, we ourselves could have decided the match, but the scoreline remained unchanged and Bacău stole an important point from FK Csíkszereda’s home ground.
