Despite arriving in Miercurea Ciuc with three defeats, Politehnica Timișoara’s U17 team proved to be a tougher challenge than expected. Szilárd Mitra’s boys struggled to unlock the Banat side’s defense in the Sunday morning encounter. No goals were scored before halftime, and the nets remained untouched well into the second half. It took the introduction of Attila Orbán in the 68th minute to break the deadlock – his strike in the 78th minute turned out to be the match-winner, with no reply from the visitors.
With four wins out of four matches, our U17 team leads the Elite League’s Western group, with Universitatea Cluj the only other side maintaining a perfect record.
