With a sparkling performance, our Youth League team said goodbye to its home ground for this season in the best possible way: by giving already crowned champions Farul no chance and securing an emphatic victory.
The oldest generation of our academy bid farewell to the home crowd in style, delivering a performance to be proud of against Farul Constanța, who had already secured the title. The festive atmosphere was enhanced not only by the quality of play but also by the presence of Edvin Ioó, who suffered a serious injury last December but has since fully recovered. He supported his teammates from the bench and celebrated together with the squad at the final whistle. We wish him all the best in his life and career beyond football.
The match was dominated entirely by the home side, with our goalkeeper Antonucci having very little to do. From the very beginning, our team created chance after chance: following a left-sided run by Noveli, Tóth-Pál had an opportunity, and our striker threatened on several occasions, either denied by the visiting goalkeeper or missing narrowly. Headers by Rónai, Nyitra’s volley, and Șomandru’s deflected attempt all signaled that the opening goal was only a matter of time.
It finally came in the 44th minute, when, at the end of a beautifully built attack, Roland Kárándi stretched to poke the ball into the net, giving FK a fully deserved lead at halftime.
The pattern of the game did not change after the break: Noveli once again created danger, forcing a fine save from the Farul goalkeeper, while Rónai’s long-range effort went just over the bar. In the 58th minute, however, Tóth-Pál Előd doubled the lead with a superb curling shot from 16 meters into the far corner. The champions increasingly struggled to respond, and the home side’s dominance was further reflected on the scoreboard.
In the 73rd minute, after a defensive mix-up by the visitors, Szabolcs Zsolt Nyitra calmly finished into the bottom-left corner. Two minutes later, Tóth-Pál added his second goal to complete the rout and set the final score at 4–0. Our Youth League team thus said farewell to its supporters with a memorable performance, outclassing the champions.
