It was a thrilling and eventful match for our U16 Elite League team, who drew 3–3 at home against LPS Buzău. After the match,
head coach Burus Bernát shared his assessment.
The coach explained that it was a true derby, with only one point separating the two teams in the standings. – “The first half was completely under our control, we dominated possession, but we weren’t sharp enough and perhaps treated the half a bit too lightly,” he said.
At halftime they discussed the danger of counterattacks, but in the second half conceded three avoidable goals. – “When an attacking, possession-based team like ours opens up so much, there is always the risk of being punished on the counter. Unfortunately, we didn’t handle those situations with enough focus, and we paid the price,” noted Burus Bernát.
He also highlighted the positive side: the team showed character and came back twice. – “I’m pleased that we showed resilience and fighting spirit, managing to come back twice. Mistakes are part of the development process, the key is to stay open to correcting them
so they won’t happen again in the future,” the head coach underlined.
In closing, he stressed that the work must continue at full intensity. – “This week we will prepare with maximum effort. Our goal is clear, and to achieve it we must work hard, because in the next round no one will hand us the three points on a plate,” concluded Burus Bernát.
