In this age category, Brașov were already far from the play-off zone, while for us a victory was needed to secure our place in the top group with one round to spare. We never gave the opponents a chance to jeopardize our goal, practically controlling the game from start to finish. Bota opened the scoring in the 14th minute, finishing from close range after a brilliantly worked team move. In the 39th minute, Cătrinoi doubled the lead with a thunderbolt from about 25 metres: 2–0. In the 63rd minute, after a corner routine, Bota struck again – a first-time volley from 22 metres, with the help of the crossbar: 3–0. Three minutes before full time, a cross from the right found Tatu-Józsa Márk free on the left, who expertly placed the ball into the far corner: 4–0.
With these three points we reached a total of 20, and even though our pursuers CFR won today away at Sepsi OSK, with only 16 points they can no longer catch us in 4th place – the last play-off spot – as there is only one round left in the regular season: on October 19 we will travel to Jucu to face leaders Universitatea Cluj.
