After eight league rounds and two cup matches without defeat, the Székely side finally saw their run stopped halfway through the Superliga regular season. Farul, faster and more precise, completely outplayed the visitors. The hosts opened the scoring in the 14th minute when Ganea’s cross was flicked on by Grigoryan and Vînă slotted between Pap’s legs for 1–0. Six minutes later, Rădăslăvescu fired under the crossbar, but after a lengthy VAR review, the goal was disallowed for offside. The home team doubled their lead before halftime — in the 40th minute, Csíkszereda lost the ball in midfield, and Grigoryan made it 2–0 from the counterattack.
The second half was more balanced, with the visitors creating some chances of their own, but Végh’s shots and substitute Szalay’s header failed to make an impact. VAR intervened again in the 70th minute to signal a handball by Hegedűs, and Ișfan confidently converted the resulting penalty. Without Pap’s excellent saves, the scoreline could have been even heavier.
Head coach Ilyés Róbert kept his comments brief after the match:
“A clear three-goal defeat — the opponents schooled us, unfortunately. We didn’t expect this, but it’s the reality: if you lack the right attitude and aren’t mentally prepared for such a match, this happens. We must admit that today we faced a much more motivated and dynamic team, which moved the ball well, combined effectively, and created many chances,” he said.
In the next round (Matchday 16), FK Csíkszereda will visit Dinamo Bucharest on Saturday at 17:30, at the National Arena.
